Northeast Wisconsin Quarter Horse Association and Wisconsin Quarter Horse
Association are joining together to do something unique this year during their
show held in Oshkosh May 28th – May 31st. We are collecting items to ship
oversees to our troops.
The deployment of troops from Wisconsin this spring was the largest one time
deployment in Wisconsin history. Thousands of members from the 32nd infantry
brigade combat team said goodbye to Wisconsin and headed for Fort Bliss, Texas
for their last weeks of training before shipping out to Iraq at the end of April
and early May.
Among those, is one of our own, Rebecca Bitters (Rymer). Rebecca is a member of
the 32nd Military Police Company and is currently in training in Texas. She will
be heading to Kuwait and then on to Bagdad with the rest of her troop for a one
year tour of duty.
Rebecca leaves behind her husband, Adam, dog Monty, two cows, and of course her
Quarter Horses which she showed as a youth and amateur. Rebecca also served as
Vice President of NEWQHA until her deployment.
We felt, as an organization, we wanted to show our support to those who are
sacrificing so much for us. A partial list of items is included below and will
be boxed up and sent to our Wisconsin troops. If you do not want to mess with
buying the items, cash is always accepted. The money will be used for purchasing
the needed items and postage for shipping them overseas.
Thank you in advance. If you have any questions, you can contact Janelle at
920-591-0822 or email riseaboveranch@centurytel.net
